Tom is not a brownie kind of guy. I love brownies though. So we found blondies are a great alternative to brownies! Soft and chewy and oh so delicious! I like to throw in some dark chocolate chips in mine, but you can put in whatever you want!

Blondies

Ingredients

2 ¼ C + 2 TBSP all purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

1 ¾ C light brown sugar, packed

1 ½ sticks unsalted butter, soften

3 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 C water

2 C chocolate chips (I prefer dark chocolate, but you can use what you'd like)

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.

  • Combined flour baking powder and salt in a small bowl. In a large bowl beat sugar and butter together until creamy. Be in eggs, vanilla extract and water, then gradually and slowly beat in flour mixture.

  • Stir in chocolate chips, and spread into you're prepared baking dish. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
