Simple and delicious way to cook pork chops. Oh, did I mention inexpensive too? This recipe can be used on steak and a variety of vegetables also.
Basted Pork Chop
Serves 4
4 bonelss pork chops, 8oz-12oz
Salt and pepper to taste
6 TBSP unsalted butter
Sprig of thyme
Sprig of rosemary
2 garlic cloves, smashed
Season pork chops with salt and pepper
Preheat a pan over medium-high. Drizzle the pan with a small amount of oil, like vegetable oil.
Once the pan is hot, add 2 pork chops to the pan at a time so not to overcrowd the pan. Cook until it is golden brown on one side. Flip the pork and add butter, thyme, rosemary and garlic. (For every 2 chops in the pan add 3 TBSP of butter.)
Tilt the pan, and using a large tablespoon, baste the chop with the melted butter frequently, being sure to baste the entire chop and keep the pork over the heat.
Cook pork until the internal temperature is 145°F, continuing to baste as it cooks.
Remove from heat and allow to rest for 3-5 minutes.
